The unit has special-sized DDR2 RAM.

There's nothing fancy about this RAM - it's just plain DDR2-533 RAM, but what makes it special, is that its height is significantly reduced to better fit in the unit.
I haven't tested whether DIMMs with regular height fit as well. If they do, the additional bracket for a 2.5-inch HD will probably not fit, though.
